Osteria via Stato

The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a traditional Italian meal, served on Christmas Eve.  It is believed that the tradition dates back to the medieval practice of abstinence on Friday and holidays.  Since catholics couldn’t eat meat on these days, they dined mostly on fish.

A traditional Seven Fishes meal consists of salted cod (baccala), calamari, shellfish and hearty pastas to share with your family and friends.  Chef DiGregorio’s feast is listed below.  Call 312.642.8450 to make your reservation.Chicago_Christmas_Eve
